This recently completed irrigation reservoir is located in the Sonoma – Carneros region and can hold approximately 16 million gallons of storage volume. The reservoir was installed to replace a much smaller pond and will serve the sole purpose of irrigating vineyard on the same parcel.
The pond was designed as an off-stream reservoir and required streambed alterations, creation of wetlands, and establishment of new streambed. Governing agencies included U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, County of Sonoma, and Regional Water Quality Control Board.
The reservoir has vertical interior banks of 19 feet in height as is planned to be filled with reclaimed wastewater from Sonoma Valley.
Atterbury & Associates provided civil engineering design services for the reservoir’s grading, wetlands and streambed creation, hydraulic design, sediment and erosion control, and drainage improvements. This project was delivered on-time and within budget.
